Mission & Impact
We are sharpening the customer-facing trading experience for investors across the Nordics. Pareto Securities already serves retail and institutional investors who expect fast, trustworthy tools. We keep our core product team right where the action happens, to react swiftly to market changes and new insights. We measure ourselves against the best trading platforms out there, and we are not satisfied with matching them.
As a fullstack developer, you take ownership across the stack, from the interfaces investors rely on to the services behind them: live dashboards, portfolio views, and the real-time data that stays readable even when markets are volatile.
Our team works together from our Oslo office because close collaboration drives better decisions. Sharing the same room means decisions happen in minutes, not threads, and trust builds quickly. We work shoulder to shoulder with brokers, traders, and other specialists across the bank. If you enjoy building alongside people who ask ambitious questions and care about the craft, you will feel at home here.
Our product & technology group is a small crew of roughly ten people covering frontend, backend, mobile, design, and project management. We spin up small project teams around each initiative so the people doing the work make decisions and ship. We expect curiosity: if something touches our customers, you understand it, have an opinion, and help improve it, regardless of discipline.
What You’ll Work On
- Ship features end-to-end, from the interfaces investors touch to the services behind them, so active investors can act quickly on live market data.
- Build web and mobile flows together so investors get a consistent experience across surfaces.
- Build and integrate MCP servers, in-house and third-party, exposing our data and tools to AI agents. Still early, plenty to shape.
- Design and build APIs, data contracts, and event-driven flows that keep the platform steady.
- Modernise legacy apps by untangling old choices and leaving maintainable patterns behind.
- Guard performance, accessibility, and resilience when the stakes are high.
- Work forward-deployed, close to brokers and traders: understand what they need and help them do more business.
Our Stack & Tooling
- Our platform spans customer-facing trading on web and mobile, the internal tools brokers and advisors work in, and the services behind them for orders, settlement, research, reporting, and compliance across Norway and Sweden.
- Most of it runs on .NET and Angular, with the mobile app on .NET MAUI. Operational data lives in PostgreSQL and SQL Server. A newer analytics warehouse, built with dlt and dbt, is still taking shape.
- Infrastructure runs on a mix of Windows services and Linux containers today, and is moving toward Kubernetes (AKS) and infrastructure-as-code.
How We Work
We work AI-assisted by default. Claude Code is our main tool for that today, and the cost of turning a clear idea into shipped code has collapsed. That changes what we optimise for: clear intent, direct code the next person (or agent) can pick up, and the confidence to refactor rather than live with an awkward shape. We review in the open, write short proposals instead of long specs, and iterate on fast feedback. Tight collaboration with design and product happens daily, and everyone shares accountability for outcomes.
We are a small team in one room, so ownership runs wide: there is no separate ops or platform group to hand things off to. You build it, ship it, and keep it healthy. We keep ceremonies lean and prefer pragmatic choices sized for our team over patterns borrowed from much larger orgs, staying close to the colleagues who use what we build so it fits real trading workflows. Day-to-day collaboration happens in Norwegian while code and documentation remain in English.
What You Bring
Core strengths
- You already use AI coding tools as your default way of working, not as an experiment, and have the judgment to use them well.
- Deep technical curiosity matters more to us than which languages you have shipped in: a feel for which tool fits which problem, and a principled, pragmatic way of working. Comfortable across the stack, solid somewhere and capable everywhere.
- Able to take an idea from discovery through delivery and keep improving it after launch.
- Comfortable designing APIs and data models and weighing trade-offs on both sides of the stack.
- Communicate in Norwegian day to day and write clear code and docs in English; share knowledge openly.
- Motivated rather than deterred by a regulated industry where compliance shapes the work, and curious about the markets we serve.
Bonus experience
- Building cross-platform or native mobile experiences.
- Depth in event-driven architectures, SQL, or other backend systems at scale.
- Scaling data-heavy dashboards, trading tools, or other real-time interfaces.
- Applying design-system thinking alongside product designers.
Life at Pareto Securities
Our team includes builders who have shipped products across leading Norwegian tech and finance companies. We share opinions openly, test assumptions, and rally around clear outcomes. You will get the space to own ideas end-to-end and the expectation to follow through.
We operate from modern offices overlooking Aker Brygge, with an in-house kitchen that keeps us well fed throughout the day. We cover your mobile phone and subscription, provide comprehensive insurance that covers disability, health care, and global travel, and offer broad partner discounts across automotive, apparel, sports, food, and other services.
We operate in a highly regulated industry, which adds stakes and purpose. You will be building systems that customers depend on when real money is at play. That combination of responsibility and craft is why we work here.
