About the role
We’re looking for a Tech Team Lead to join our CapStone team — the engine behind foundational platform capabilities like authorization and billing, and product capabilities like our cap table and exercise process. This is an important role, as we scale our platform and launch new offerings for the private equity market.
In this role, you’ll be both a hands-on engineer and a people leader. You’re someone who thrives in the codebase — designing systems, solving complex backend challenges, and leading by example. You’ll provide day-to-day technical direction, code leadership, and developer growth support. You’ll bring architectural expertise, backend depth, and strong mentorship to a highly motivated team. At the same time, you’ll take ownership of team development by mentoring, supporting growth, and driving a strong culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
What you’ll do
- Technical leadership: Drive architectural decisions, set coding standards, and ensure scalable, maintainable backend systems – especially around authorization, billing, and new initiatives like Optio for Private Equity
- Team leadership & growth: Own developer leadership responsibilities, coach developers, and support professional development and performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with your Product Manager and Designer, actively contributing to product discovery, technical scoping, and shared accountability for outcomes.
- Balance short-term delivery and long-term technical health: Guide thoughtful decision-making, ensuring sustainable software development practices.
- Shape a strong developer culture: Create a collaborative team environment, laying the groundwork for future hiring, onboarding, and team development.
Who you are
- A senior backend engineer or tech lead with 6+ years of experience in building scalable web platforms.
- Experienced in architectural design, system integration, and leading by example in writing clean, maintainable code.
- Skilled in mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Collaborative and curious, with a mindset of continuous learning.
- Comfortable working in an environment with high trust, high autonomy, and high expectations.
- Ideally located in Norway or willing to relocate — we strongly value co-located product teams to drive innovation and discovery.
