About the team

You will join a team with end‑to‑end responsibility for the credit card data domain.

The team sits at the core of how card data is captured, transformed, and made available, working closely with business stakeholders, other technology teams, and external partners. Our mission is to turn complex card data into reliable, well‑modelled data products used across the organization and by external consumers. We own the entire data lifecycle, from core banking systems to implementation in Snowflake, and take full responsibility for data quality, governance, and usability.

The team works with modern data platforms and tooling, and values clear ownership, pragmatism, and continuous improvement. We have a culture of high standards combined with openness, collaboration, and active knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Be the go-to technical expert for the Cards data domain
• Ensure alignment with DNB’s data mesh principles, data product standards and Snowflake platform
• Guide and mentor the team in best practices for Snowflake, dbt, Airflow and event-driven architectures (Kafka/Event Hub)
• Review and approve solution designs, technical documentation and pull requests
• Establish engineering best practices for coding, version control, CI/CD, observability and security
• Ensure compliance with platform guidelines including access management, data governance and lineage
• Drive automation and standardization for pipelines, deployments and monitoring
• Be a good team player and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment

What we’re looking for

• Experience in data engineering in complex, business-critical environments
• Solid understanding of data products, domains and modern data platforms
• Experience with data modelling and data governance
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Strong skills in dbt (models, tests, macros, exposures)
• Good understanding of Airflow (DAG design, dynamic tasks, scheduling)
• Experience with event-driven pipelines (Kafka / Event Hub)
• Strong SQL and Python skills, and experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience leading or mentoring a technical team
• Ability to see the big picture and connect business, data and technology
• Relevant degree from a college or university
• Good communication skills in Norwegian and English
